Passing Warm up (20 mins)

Sequence goes as image above.Pre- arrival activity to encourage movement/passing/ receiving.

Thinking Points

1) How can we vary the weight / accuracy of passes allowing teammates to play as quickly as possibly ?

2) How do the passes vary on at different cones ?

P = bring the cones closer together - players now asked to play 1 touch

P = Challenge - Can we play 1 touch around the drill ?

3v3+1 (whole) (20 mins)

Organisation - players to coach EB, JP, IBM + FM, HA, JC  manage all other players.

3v3+1 plus two T players on the outside. Floater inside plays with team in possession.  Alter depending on numbers.

Team in possession, play between the two Target players to get a point multi - directional play.

players must have one player in each 3rd - but must rotate when + how

P - take out floater 3V3

P -  make area smaller or bigger - boys to decide

P -  play of one touch when required

P - boys all must have a touch of the ball before going into the T's

 Learning Objectives Team -

As a midfield unit can the players keep possession with the outside T's - encourage ways to rotate positions between the mid- field 3 when receiving form T's

Making space for themselves + team mates to play in how? & When?

Learning Objectives Individual -

Movement - 3 movements to get on the ball

Receiving priorities - body shape

Organisation -

As diagram - decide measurements on day depending on numbers

Can work in a 3 or 4

B makes a movement to receive the ball inside of square drop-in from A's pass.  B passes to C, B then drops out to the space generated form A when drops in to receive pass from C.  A the passes to D, A drops out C drops in and the session keeps on in that direction.

Session will look messy - manage expectations as some players will struggle at first to see the movement.  let them play and give time for players to work it out

there should only be 4 players receiving in them middle - 1 from each team.

P= play of one touch - body shape will allow this why?

P= introduce one of the 4 teams as D's one plays in the square the other 3 play in the space between, the square and circle - this will encourage player movement on the outside, D's in this area can only cut out passes, and not tackle outside players

P= reduce size of area accordingly

Learning Objectives Team -

Movement and rotation between 3 midfield players  - basic session

when to move - timing of runs

communication listening and talking - good habits

Learning Objectives Individual -

Individual movement when and where

passing and receiving priorities

amount of touches needed.

Coaching Styles Used -

T&E at first, command if necessary Q&A

 Technical -

same as above

 Physical -
