Getting players to try to beat an opponent or to accelerate away with the ball is a great attacking tool.

Set Up:

1) Two teams of 5

2) Four goals, one in each corner

3) 50 x 30 yard grid

4) Two 3 yard cone goals in between each goal on the end lines

5) Split the area into two halves

6) Extra balls by the cone goals for a quick restart

Rules:

Have the players set up in formations. Play starts with a pass out from between the cones with the starting team attacking the opposite end. To advance the ball to the other half, the attacker must dribble the ball over the half line. The attacking team is awarded 1 point for scoring in one of their two small goals and 3 points if they can dribble through the cone gate. If a team scores, they play out from between the cones and attack the other end. If the attacking team misses, the defending team plays out of the opposite side. Play starts each time from between the cones.

Technique:

There will be plenty of chances for players to use their dribbling skils and practice keeping the ball, however, the key decisions will be when to penetrate and when to possess.
