Warm Up (10 mins)

Warm Up

Each player has a ball, as they run around the square they try and pass the ball with the inside of the foot against the other persons ball. Each time they do they get 1 point. If the ball leaves the square they lose there points.

Progression

Use weak foot

Each time they pass against another persons ball, they get that persons points.

Target Ball

Ball in the middle is the target. The teams pass the balls from the line and try and knock the target ball across the other teams end line.

Starwars

Players must dribble ball from one side to heother without being hit below the knee/ball by the team on the side.

When they get hit they must come on the side and aso became the strikers

Split your players into two teams if you have pinnies use them as it helps with clarity. Have the teams stand either side of the coach with all the soccer balls with the coach in the middle.

The coach should play a ball out to one of the two teams. The first player in each line runs out and competes to score by passing the ball back to the coach. Coach can vary the serve to favor one player and encourage other player to take on a defensive role and cut out the passing lane (take position to block pass immediately to the coach).

Coaching tip: The players should try and score as quickly as possible. If they are taking too long or go out of bounds instruct players to “clear the field”.

Coaching tip: The coach does not just have to remain in the one spot, the coach can move around to make players look up and not pass blindly>

Variation: Coach can call out a Number, then that number of players enter the field from each team giving an extra passing option.
