Instructions:

Marble King game. Blue players with ball in their hands. Red players dribbling around area to find space with "Messi" touches and close control.

Coaching Points:

-Head up to find space

-Close control to dribble in gaps and tight spaces

-Add more marble kings

Organization:

1.20 x 20 yard area set up as shown

2.12 players (6 Attackers, 6 Defenders) set up as shown

3.1 ball per player

Instructions:

1.The attacker attempts to loose their defender (shadow) in a set time period to score

2.The defender (shadow) must mirror all ball actions and movements that the attacker does

3.When the time period is up the players must freeze and see if the defender can touch the attacker

4.Play for a set time period then switch attackers and defenders

Coaching Points:

1.Appropriate turn to protect or change direction

2.Bend the knees to create a platform to accelerate

3.Use the upper body to add disguise

4.Turn into space

Progressions:

P – Reduce the size of the area to increase traffic

R – Shadow has no ball

Turning 1v1 (20 mins)

Organization:

- Players split evenly in to two teams

- Balls w/ coach

Instructions:

- On coach's call, first player in each line runs around respective cone and back

- Coach rolls ball out

- Players play 1v1 to either goal (keep score)

Coaching Points:

- Body Between Defender / Ball

- Choice of turn

- Execution of Trun

- Accelerate out

Regressions:

- Players must perform a turn before going to goal

Instructions:

coach split team into 2 groups of 7 players. players comes up with team name..

each team make a line ready to go.

coach call out the number of players to go out and play

the game is over when the a goal is scored or the ball goes out of bounds...

Players then go back to their lines and coach call a new number...

Coaching Points:

Be quick to the ball

the player without the ball become a defender quickly and put his body between the man and the goal..

when your player have the ball spread out and give support...

Progressions:

coach assign a cone for the players to run around before touching the ball
