  • Can you run with the ball?
  • Can you keep your head up when running with the ball?
  • Can you hide the ball?
  • Can you keep the ball?
  • Can you use both feet when running with the ball?

 2. Movement 

  • No Standing Zone!

Capture the Balls (15 mins)

Set Up: 

  • Divide the players into two even groups. Start at home base.
  • 10 balls are placed on the half way line.
  • A small square is set up at both ends (home base). 
  • Field size 30 (L) x 20 (W).

Action: 

  • Each player runs out to collect a ball. Once balls collected they are to be left at home base.
  • Once all balls have been collected at half way players can go and collect balls from opposite group.
  • Teams with the most balls at home base after the time has been completed are the winners.
Variation/Progressions
  • The time of sets or size of the area can be adjusted to suit the needs and abilities of the players.
  • With each turn try and beat your previous score.

Player Tips: 

  • As Above.

Coaching Points:

  • Correct running/dribbling with the ball and passing technique.
  • Win the ball.
  • Go for the steal.
  • Protect your base.
  • Plan as a team.

Session Timing:

  • Complete 4 sets of 1.5 minutes with a 1 minute rest in between sets.
