Hospital Tag (15 mins)

Set Up: 

  • Each player with a ball.
  • Field size 20 (L) x 20 (W).

Action: 

  • Each player with a ball is to move around area.
  • Move to different areas of the square as to not get tagged.
  • Any player can tag any other player.
  • Once tagged player is to hold one arm while still dribbling around square.
  • If player tagged a second time player is to hold both arms while still dribbling around square.
  • If player tagged a third time they must join coach on the sideline (hospital) and do a ball feeling exercise (e.g., 10 toe taps). Once completed they can re-join group.
Variation/Progressions
  • The time of sets or size of the area can be adjusted to suit the needs and abilities of the players.
  • Aim to improve running/dribbling with the ball.

Player Tips:

  • As Above.

Coaching Points:

  • Correct running/dribbling with the ball technique.
  • Small touches.
  • Heads Up.
  • Dodge the tag.

Session Timing:

  • Complete 3 sets of 3 minutes with a 1 minute rest in between sets.
