Upon transition, get wider. Separate from the defender to create a passing lane. Do not show your heels to the passer. First run wide before running forward to create the gap, and also turning your body side on for the reception of the ball and the vision of the defender.

If the defender follows the first movement, then the second movement is a diagonal run in behind, to receive on the defender's blindside. The pass would now have to be on the other side of the defender, as the previous gap would have been closed.

After passing forward, immediately support the receiver. Do this quickly before the second defender recovers to make it a 2v2. Can you overlap to make it a 2v1? Can you receive ahead of the ball?

Red passes to green. Green tries to play a forward pass to her teammate, then moves forward to support the attack. The receiver and defender start on the halfway line. The recovering defender starts on the red cone and becomes active upon the first touch of the receiver. The teams have two small goals to attack and play to a finish.
